The girls varsity lacrosse team fell to Penn-Trafford on Monday night, 15-3.
Penn-Trafford was too quick for Baldwin’s defense to keep up with, junior Aliza Very said.
“The other team had a lot of fast passing, which, on the transition, made it difficult for the midfielders to get back on defense on time,” Very said.
Senior Chloe Sabold agreed.
“Right after the draw they kept getting fast breaks down the field, which led to fast scoring and made it tough to play defense,” Sabold said.
The team recognizes areas for improvement.
“We need to work on our passing and catching on the transition and to create more opportunities to score,” Very said.
Sabold said everyone on the team can commit to improving going forward.
“After a loss like that, we can all work to make ourselves better. I think we really need to improve on both offense and defense to win the future,” Sabold said.
Despite the loss, junior goaltender Addison Giglione was essential to the Highlanders, Very said.
“Addison Giglione had so many amazing saves that helped our team stay in the game and not give up,” Very said.
Sabold said sophomore Olivia O’Malley played great offense up against a strong Penn-Trafford defense.
The team’s next game will be at home against Shaler on Thursday.
