The Baldwin ice hockey team lost 3-1 to Upper Saint Clair on Thursday night.
Sophomore winger Nathan Buys said USC did well holding onto the puck.
“They had the puck most of the game and possessed it well,” he said.
Junior center Logan Cramer said despite their overall record of 1-15-2, the Highlanders play hard for many reasons.
“We just keep working hard and play for each other,” Cramer said. “We play for the seniors that are graduating this year.”
Both Cramer and Buys said that junior Gabe Herrle stood out on Thursday night.
“He got our first goal and played really physically,” Buys said.
That physical approach was echoed by other Highlanders, Cramer said.
“We put effort against them and got a lot of big hits,” he said.
Buys agreed.
“We played really physical and gritty,” he said.
The team’s next game is away at 7 p.m. Thursday against Mount Lebanon at the Mount Lebanon Ice Center.
