The Baldwin wrestling team took fourth place over the weekend in the Montour Duals tournament.
Junior Ramil Islamov said there were some very good individual performances.
“Keith Mincin and Owen Klodowski both went undefeated on the day,” said Islamov, who also went undefeated.
Senior Keith Mincin said fourth place is about what they expected.
“Getting fourth place wasn’t bad knowing that we were missing many teammates,” Mincin said.
Islamov going undefeated shows that his hard work has paid off.
“It feels great to go 5-0 because it shows how hard I have been working all season,” Islamov said.
The Highlanders succeeded in keeping matches close.
“As a team we didn’t give up bonus points, which is great, and everyone fought to keep the game close,” Islamov said.
Mincin thought he did all he could to help the team succeed.
“I wrestled on my feet very well and scored many of the team’s points,” Mincin said.
There are still some things to continue working on.
“We need to improve on sharpening up our best moves,” Mincin said.
The Highlanders’ next match is Feb. 24th at South Fayette.
