The Baldwin ice hockey team lost 5-2 to Central Catholic on Thursday night despite their strong offensive performance.
“It was a very close game,” sophomore Nate Buys said. “We had 36 shots on net, which is the
most we’ve had in a long time.”
Baldwin had a power play goal during the second period, tying the score. However, Central Catholic got ahead again in the third.
Junior James Williams and Senior Tanner Plinta scored for Baldwin.
As of lately, the team has been playing well, but they continue to struggle to come out with wins.
“We played really well offensively. We had a lot of chances,” Buys said. “Our defensive zone wasn’t the best.”
The team plans to keep up the intensity, sophomore Mack Dempsey said.
“We’re coming into games kind of slow. We just need to get into the game faster,” he said.
Currently, the team’s overall record is 1-12-3, which means they will not make the playoffs.
Their next game is Thursday against Upper Saint Clair.
