The girls basketball team lost 69-59 to Chartiers Valley in a home section game on Monday. Forward junior Janelle Norman said Chartiers Valley played a fast-paced game and excelled in executing their plays. Norman thought, however, that Baldwin could have improved on certain aspects of the game.
“We could have done better on little things like rebounds and just better getting down the court,” she said.
Senior Katie Lucarelli, meanwhile, said the team needs to work on keeping up with other teams and finishing strong to close the season.
“We need to pull through at the end of the game,” Lucarelli said. “We stay with teams, but they go on a run and lose us.”
Overall the team did well and sophomore Bella Niles stood out, Lucarelli said.
“She did really well on defense,” she said.
Lucarelli’s skills also stood out during this game, Norman said.
The team’s overall record this year is 8-10. They play next at home at 6:00 p.m. Friday against Canon-Mac.
