The boys basketball team defeated Trinity on senior night, 57-50.
Junior Nate Wesling led the team with 21 points. He said the team couldn’t let the seniors down on their night.
“I knew that they wanted this night to be special and capping it off with a win would be extra special,” he said. “I knew I had to put my best out there for those guys.”
The team was happy with their ability to score throughout the game.
But they were disappointed in the way they let up key offensive rebounds throughout the game.
“We have to be more aggressive on the boards,” Wesling said. “We can’t let people dominate rebounds like that.”
Seniors Adam Degenhardt, Nate Richards and Katie Luccarelli were recognized between the boys and girls games.
Richards said it was the first time he felt that his time at Baldwin was coming to an end.
“It is a sad feeling that we are almost done,” he said. “But it was fun to look back on the memories I made as part of this team.”
Richards is happy with where the team is going this season.
“That win against USC seemed to pull us together more than ever,” he said. “We are ready to pull into first place this week.”
The Highlanders play next on Friday at Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m.
