The new Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has not disappointed so far because it is staying true to the original novels.
The series is based on the Percy Jackson novels by Rick Riordan. It is about a young boy who discovers he is a demigod and that his real father is Poseidon, Greek god of sea.
Percy has to embark on a journey with his friends, during which they are faced with many challenges. This first season in the series is based on the first book, The Lightning Thief.
The series is doing a good job at providing the same feel and storyline as the novels. In the series, the actors who play the main characters look the same age as they are in the books. This was one big issue with the earlier Percy Jackson movies, in which the actors looked much older.
Walker Scobel, Leah Jeffries, and Arayan Simhadri all do a great job at capturing the qualities of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover.
Those who are fans of the original Percy Jackson novels will surely enjoy this series.
