The Baldwin girls basketball team fell to Upper St Clair on Thursday night, 42-32.
Sophomore Laci Bernotas said the team could have played better as a whole.
“We couldn’t get anything going on the offensive end. Shots weren’t falling and we were turning the ball over more than we should have,” Bernotas said.
Bernotas said the team could have kept the game a lot closer by playing better defense.
“We need to improve on our transition defense and find our matchups quicker in half-court sets,” Bernotas said.
Although Bernotas thought the team didn’t play as well as they could have, there were some bright spots.
“We pushed the ball well in transition and got good looks,” Bernotas said.
She said junior Janelle Norman especially fought to keep the game close.
“We were down by seven and Janelle came in and gave us quick offense,” Bernotas said. “Then I hit a three to cut the lead to two.”
The Highlanders look to get back into the win column on Tuesday against Peters Township.
