The Rocket League esports team lost 3-0 to Bishop McDevitt on Wednesday.
The team matches are decided by a set of three games. Baldwin lost the first game 6-1, the second game 5-0, and the third game 2-0.
Freshman Ethan Green was disappointed by the team’s performance throughout each game.
“Our defense really lacked and our offense just didn’t get going. We only averaged two to four shots per match. This is a really poor performance compared to our other games,” Green said.
Green believes the team needs to change their strategies going forward.
“We need to do a better job at scoping out the other team and learning to combat their strengths,” Green said.
Green said sophomore Braydon Parker had an especially good performance.
“Braydon scored our lone goal. We got some shots throughout the game but couldn’t capitalize on them. Braydon got a last-second goal in the first match,” Green said.
Despite the rough start to the series, Green believes that the team improved by the third game.
“The team did a good job at getting it together by the end. We eventually got our defense back on track and started stopping shots,” Green said.
This loss brings the team’s record to 2-3.
The team’s next game is Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. against Strath Haven High School.
