The Baldwin ice hockey team fell to Pine-Richland 4-0 on Monday.
The Highlanders started off the game with a lack of energy, junior Jeremy Pollard. Throughout the game, they also struggled with executing plays and forechecking.
“Our first line played really solid, but other than that nobody produced,” Pollard said.
Baldwin had a strong third period, though, where the team picked up the energy.
Pine-Richland, meanwhile, played well throughout the entire game.
“They were a very fast team,” junior Joseph O’Neil said, “So we got burned badly in the neutral zone.”
Despite the tough loss, a couple of Highlanders did play particularly well.
“Logan Cramer definitely stood out. he was everywhere on the ice,” Pollard said.
Junior Austin Landosky also stood out, blocking 44 shots.
O’Neil reflected on his own performance.
“I thought I did well getting the puck out of our zone,” O’Neil said. “But there is still a lot I can improve on.”
The team’s next game is away against Canon-McMillian next Tuesday.
“We both have similar records, so it should be a close game,” O’Neil said.
