Baldwin’s Valorant esports team won 2-0 against Biglerville on Thursday.
This is the team’s second win, after a default win for their first game. Coach Nathan Elias felt the team did well in the match.
“They were able to take good fights and generally outplayed our opponents,” Elias said. “This culminated in a 13-0 scoreline for the second map, which was awesome to see.”
Elias said the turning point of the match for the team was at halftime in Game 1.
“We only lost one round total in the match after switching to defense on Game 1,” Elias said.
Senior Annan Gurung said he was satisfied with the team’s performance but believes there are improvements to be made.
“The team had very good communication, but our cooperation could have been better,” Gurung said.
Elias was happy with the performances of the players.
“Lawrence Jackson did very well in Game 1, and in Game 2, Annan Gurung really had an excellent performance, ending the round with 21 kills to only four deaths, a really excellent performance,” Elias said. “Both these players were able to outduel their opponents well throughout both matches.”
Gurung said he has high expectations for the team as they progress throughout the season.
“I am looking forward to winning this year,” Gurung said. “I have confidence in our team and I also believe that we will go very far.”
The team is set to play Central Bucks South next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
