The boy’s soccer secured their first win of the season with an 8-1 victory over Hempfield on Thursday night.
The team worked well together on offense and held a strong defense throughout the game, junior Max Pegher said.
Junior Samir Sanyasi was particularly successful on the field.
“He scored two goals and dribbled really well, which helped the team transition down the field,” junior goalkeeper Gabe Herrle said.
Herrle also made a key save, Pegher said.
The team communicated well, but still needs to continue working on it for the upcoming games.
“We ran into each other a few times, so we need to start working on better communication. Overall I’d say we performed well,” Herrle said.
With their new confidence, the team is hopeful to win more matches in the future.
Their next game is Saturday against Carrick.
