The Baldwin football team lost 42-34 to Upper Saint Clair on Friday night.
This was the team’s first section game. Their overall record is 1-2.
Senior Quarterback John Kozar feels that this is a crucial moment for Baldwin.
“This is a big point in our season. We can either step up and make a change or continue on this same path,” Kozar said.
USC took a large lead throughout the first half. In the second half, Baldwin mounted a comeback, but could not take the lead.
“Turnovers were our biggest issue. Without them, it would’ve been a much closer and complete game,” Kozar said.
The team plans on working towards staying motivated and keeping their energy up throughout the game.
Sophomore Nico Macurak stood out among the rest of the team, senior Keith Mincin said.
“Nico came into the game in the second half and performed really well,” Mincin said.
The team’s confidence improved a lot after halftime, Mincin said.
The Highlanders next matchup is at home this Friday against North Allegheny.
