The Baldwin girls volleyball team was shut out by Fox Chapel on Thursday night.
The Highlanders showed that they need to work on a few aspects of their game.
“That game showed us that we could work on our covering from tips and off the block hits,” sophomore Ashley Skowronski said.
Fox Chapel played a strategic game and was able to do the little things right.
“They did very well at placing the ball in those hard spots that are tough to get to,” she said.
Despite the loss, Skowronski said senior Olivia Varon and Junior Kaylee Smolko had good showings.
“Olivia did a good job on defense as she had many great plays. I also think Kaylee did a good job placing the ball on the opponent’s side,” she said.
The Highlanders showed some bright spots with their overall demeanor.
“I think we did good on keeping our energy up. There were some bad spots, but we kept a good energy throughout the game,” Skowronski said.
The Highlanders take on Upper St. Clair away on Tuesday.
