The girls soccer team lost its first section game, 5-1, on Monday night to Mt. Lebanon.
The girls started off strong when junior Annabelle Herrle scored to give the Highlanders a 1-0 lead. Lebo, however, scored their first goal about 10 minutes later.
Despite this, senior Emma Lieu said the girls had “strong energy that pursued through the first half.” During halftime, since Lebo had gained the lead, Baldwin’s coaches pushed the girls to keep their heads up because the score was still close.
In the end, Lieu said the team still needs to improve in a few areas where Lebo had a strong upper hand.
“Lebo moved the ball really well and was aggressive,” Lieu said.
The team’s next game will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Upper St. Clair.
