Girls lacrosse loses to Fox Chapel

The Baldwin boys lacrosse team plays in the 3A division.

Girls lacrosse fell to Fox Chapel, 15- 5, on Monday night.

The defeat was hard on the team members, who have had a rough season this year. Sophomore Aliza Very, however, feels that the team has improved since last year.

“We definitely had a lot more opportunities compared to last season,” Very said.

Sophomore Alexa Sherman said the team struggled during the season but looks to improve their teamwork for next season.

“We need to learn how to work together and play as a team – not just play as a single person,” Sherman said.

The team needs to work on taking one play at a time, Very said.

“We would rush the passes instead of finding someone who is truly open,” Very said of Monday’s game.

Sherman acknowledged Fox Chapel’s offensive and defensive work.

“Their transitions down the field were really smooth. Their pass connections were very good,” Sherman said.

Both Very and Sherman said the team plans to work on communication during games.

The team looks forward to improving for next season.
