The Baldwin softball team suffered a 7-0 loss to Seneca Valley on Wednesday.

Senior Grace Schumacher thought that Seneca outplayed Baldwin in many aspects of the game.

“The other team did a lot better than us. They went for runs more and had a better offense. They were able to get good hits consecutively,” Schumacher said.

Schumacher said there are many things that Baldwin still has to work on if they want to earn their first win of the season.

“We need to work on our hitting and offense in general, especially in a row. If we have multiple people on bases, we can’t just get three outs after that,” Schumacher said.

However, she also thought that her sister, junior Anna Schumacher, had a strong day.

“My sister Anna pitched the best game of her life yesterday. We just had a defensive flop,” Schumacher said.

Anna Schumacher said the team put up a lot of effort.

“We knew they were a good team but we played our hardest anyway. Keira Platz had a very nice game,” Anna Schumacher said.

Sophomore Gabby Jaquay also had a great game, Grace Schumacher said.

The team’s record is currently 0-11, but Grace Schumacher hopes that the season will get better for the team going forward.

“I hope our team will take home a win, because it’s my senior season and I’d like to have good memories of it,” Schumacher said.

Their next game is away tomorrow against Pine-Richland.
