`Murder Mystery 2’ mixes suspense, humor
April 11, 2023
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler star in a suspenseful and hilarious – though predictable – adventure in the sequel Murder Mystery 2.
In this second film, Audrey and Nick Spitz launch their new detective agency. When the couple is invited to an Indian friend’s wedding, they are met with a series of mysteries. Yet again, everyone is suspected and various plot twists occur.
When the couple goes to this event, they are met with a mystery: The groom of the wedding has been kidnapped, and various deaths and stunts follow afterwards.
This movie is exciting. By putting action, suspense, and comedy together, director Jeremy Garelick successfully achieves a compelling movie.
This movie is also fun because of the quirky relationships and friendships in the movie. The relationship between the couple Audrey Spitz and Nick Spitz, adds a humorous and wholesome touch, as they constantly bicker and can’t be taken seriously.
The Indian wedding and all of its components feature rich cultural traditions. From the clothing to the henna, the inclusion of important and accurate depictions of Indian culture really helps the movie stand out. Also, at this wedding, the diversity of different cultures also adds to the movie’s uniqueness.
Numerous plot twists, each leading the audience to suspect a different character, happen so frequently that the audience starts to expect them. This causes the movie to feel cliched.
The plot is different from the original Murder Mystery, but there are a lot of patterns of repetition. Though the kill count and mystery are different, the couple is accused and tricked, which causes the movie to be predictable.
Overall, this sequel is mysterious and hilarious, but sometimes predictable.
