Long term competitors DC and Marvel have lately been letting fans down.

Fans of superhero movies have been let down of late, since the last movie to spark excitement was Batman. Films from both Marvel and DC since then have been lackluster.

These recent superhero films have poor plotlines compared to movies of the past.

For Marvel, the continuations of the Black Panther and Ant-Man stories were lacking in most aspects. The storylines were not well developed, and the content in general was not good. The only highlights of the films were the special effects and general looks itself.

In general, ever since Marvel has become part of Disney, the quality of production has gone down, while the quantity has gone up. Although Marvel has released good films while owned by Disney, movies created recently feel very rushed.

As for DC, Black Atom was not a hit. The movie may have featured the well known Dwayne Johnson, but majority of fans did not think he was fit for the role. The storyline also was not what audience members were looking for.

Though the sequel of Shazam may have given DC a bit of redemption, the studio still has yet to make a movie that is as big of a hit as the recent Batman

DC has always been known to have great cartoon movies and series, but when it comes to realistic movies, they need to make improvements.

DC seems like they have a game plan to make a major comeback, and within the next couple years to a decade they may be deemed better than Marvel. It has been rumored that DC is going to attempt to make the DC Universe more connected by having the storylines of individual character films relate to each other.

If Marvel’s subpar movie streak continues, DC is bound to pass them up in terms of popularity.
