The girls lacrosse team fell to Upper St. Clair on Wednesday, 20-3.

Freshman Madelynn Holmes plays on attack and said that Upper St Clair did a good job working together.

“They communicated well and just knew where everybody was,” she said.

Sophomore Aliza Very said Upper St. Clair also played well on offense. She said their quick passes and sharp cuts remained consistent and contributed to their win.

Very said the Baldwin girls did a good job playing hard until the end.

“We didn’t give up the whole time and we kept pushing,” she said.

Freshman Olivia O’Malley stayed particularly positive and encouraging throughout the entirety of the game, Very said.

“She scored a goal at the end of the game that kept everyone’s hopes up,” Very said.

Holmes said that the season has been going well for the girls but she hopes the team can improve for their next game.

“I think we’ve done pretty well but we could definitely work harder,” Holmes said.

The girls plan on working towards better communication skills during games. The team looks forward to the remainder of the season, as they hope to progress as the year goes on.

“We’re doing a lot better than last year. We’re scoring more and overall we’re working better as a team,” Very said.

The girls will return for their next away game on April 3 against Sewickley High School.
