Baldwin’s unified bocce team defeated Upper St. Clair but fell to South Park Wednesday, finishing third overall in the playoffs.

Although the team did not win the championship, Coach Victoria Sgattoni admired the dedication and teamwork of the players.

“I think our team does a really good job at being supportive to each other,” Sgattoni said. “Cheering each other on and practicing good sportsmanship to the other team is important.”

The final score of the South Park match was 9-2, with South Park excelling in their use of strategy. Senior Aydan O’Malley thinks that the team can improve next year by attempting to reduce deductions in matches.

Even under high pressure, the players were able to work well as a team, though.

“I think our partners really did a good job helping our athletes,” Sgattoni said.

Overall, O’Malley is glad to end the season on a good note.

“We all did our best because we all worked as a team and had a good effort,” O’Malley said.
