Paramore’s latest album, This is Why, is well worth the five-year wait for fans, and it perfectly encapsulates the band’s sound.
Unlike the most popular bands in the emo scene, Paramore manages to not only stay consistent with its style, but enhance it as well, which has allowed the band to create one of its best albums yet.
Frontwoman Hailey Williams is arguably one of the most talented female vocalists of the 21st century, which is shown throughout This is Why. Tracks like “Big Man, Little Dignity” and “Figure 8” show the emotion Williams is capable of portraying through her work.
Meanwhile, the album’s title track exemplifies the energy Paramore is able to create through its music.
The album is perfectly crafted from start to finish and doesn’t have a single bad song on it. But it does have one slight problem – it is too short. This is Why is only about 36 minutes in length with 10 tracks, making it one of the band’s shortest works.
While many fans would have loved to hear more, the short and sweet nature of the album allows for a deeper appreciation towards how good it really is. This album takes fans through a nostalgic, beautiful, emotional experience, and it definitely deserves multiple listens.
