The Baldwin girls basketball team defeated Elizabeth Forward Monday night.

Freshman Julianne Ott said the team did a good job moving the ball.

“We weren’t selfish with it, which is very important,” Ott said.

As this was the last game before playoffs, the team is happy they scored a win. Ott said sophomore Mary Vargo had a big game.

“Mary Vargo had a lot of hustle in the game especially,” Ott said. “She is a very good player.”

In the first round of the playoffs, the Highlanders will face Norwin on Feb. 23. Ott hopes the team can beat Norwin to keep the season going.

Receipts from the gate from Monday’s game were donated to Elizabeth Forward High School, helping raise money in the wake of its school fire.
