The Baldwin girls basketball team lost to Bethel Park Monday night, 71-65.

It was a close game until the fourth quarter, where it seemed as though the Blackhawks could not miss a shot.

“Bethel shot very well. They barely missed any shots,” said junior guard Katie Lucarelli.

Lucarelli feels that the Highlanders need to play all four quarters.

“We went on a run after halftime, but couldn’t finish it out,” Lucarelli said.

Sophomore Guard Mary Vargo blamed the loss on turnovers.

“We had three turnovers back to back to back, which made it difficult for us to come back,” Vargo said.

Senior guard Gianna Schoeb contributed 23 points for the Highlanders.

The girls next matchup will be Monday against Elizabeth Forward.
