The Baldwin Unified Bocce team defeated Chartiers Valley 2-0 on Thursday.

The Highlanders swept the Colts. The first game ended up 12-0, and the second coming to 10-2.

“We played two matches. The first match was more awesome,” junior Dom Meloni said.

The team came into the game unsure of the outcome, but they were ready with a strategy.

“It was a surprise that the team played so well, so with a strategy in hand the team succeeded,” senior Sara Scheeser said.

The team scored a lot of points, but there is always room for improvement.

“We need to get lower to the ground and give a nice easy throw,” Meloni said.

Scheeser agreed that the team’s throws can improve.

“The team can definitely work on getting the balls closer to the polena, we can work on our aim and our strength in throwing,”

Scheeser complimented senior Zach Bischoff.

“Zach played well–he always plays well because he gets in the zone,” Scheeser said.

Meloni kept his team in the match and brought the most enthusiasm during the match.

“I brought the most energy for the team and we ended up winning so it was a fun win,” Meloni said.

With this win, Baldwin’s record is 3-1.

The team plays next on Tuesday January 31st at Thomas Jefferson.
