Girls basketball won 44-42 against Canon Mac on Monday.

Sophomore Mary Vargo said the team did a good job moving the ball around.

Vargo also said Junior Mallory Mezeivtch had a good game.

“She stood out the entire game,” Vargo said. “Right when she got in the game she showed everyone what she was able to do, and made a lot of great passes.”

Junior Veronica Ott agreed that Mezeivtch played a strong game.

“She hit two foul shots in the fourth quarter,” Ott said.

After an unfortunate losing streak, Ott looked at the positives from this game.

“Even though we have room for improvement, we did a good job getting to the hoop and offensively working the ball,” Ott said.

“The best part of the game was when the clock ran out and we won,” Vargo said.

The game was very close, so Vargo said the team can work on rebounding and boxing out.

The team’s next game is home on Friday against Bethel at 6pm.
