The girls basketball team defeated Seneca Valley 59-41 on Monday.

“The team played well, especially Gia Schoeb. She led the team with energy and always looked to score,” junior Katie Lucarelli said.

Schoeb, a senior, had 21 points during the game. She credited her teammates for their hard work.

“We moved the ball really well and we got the big points on the board,” Schoeb said.

Schoeb said freshman Laci Bernotas played well for the Highlanders, scoring 14 points.

“The freshmen definitely stepped it up in this game,” Schoeb said.

In earlier games, Baldwin had slowed down in the third quarter, but this time the team pushed further to come out on top, Lucarelli said.

“There were some challenging moments, but overall it was an easy game,” Lucarelli said.

The next game is against Upper Saint Clair this Thursday.
