Boys soccer lost to Upper Saint Clair, 7-0, on Tuesday.

The Highlanders started off the first half pretty strongly, trailing just 2-0 at halftime.

“The team moved the ball well in the first half and found the attackers,” junior Jonus Ruvolo said.

However, USC scored five goals in the second half.

“They moved the ball really well through the midfield and took advantage of our defensive formation,” Ruvolo said.

Ruvolo said that USC’s outside backs were not as strong, so the Highlanders were able to find some success moving the ball into USC’s half of the field.

Sophomore Anthony DiCesaro said that juniors Jake Kunzman and Collin Belan “were keeping USC’s offense away from our goal and making opportunities for our offense.”

Typically, USC is a tough opponent, and the Panthers are tied with Peters Township for first in the section.

The Highlanders play Peters Township at home on Thursday.
