USC defeats girls volleyball
September 14, 2022
Girls volleyball lost to Upper Saint Clair, 3-0 on Tuesday night.
Senior Kay Lindenfelser said all three sets were close, but USC came out on top.
“It went well the first two games, but the last game, we weren’t able to keep up with them,” Lindenfelser said. “We need to work on serving and receiving more.”
Junior Brynn Seaman agreed.
“The other team had good hitters, their hits were hard, and they would tip on us a lot,” Seaman said. “We couldn’t get the ball up.”
Seaman said the team had trouble with communication.
“I honestly think we played very competitively and we stuck with them for the whole game. We did well as a team, but we definitely made some mistakes,” Seaman said.
Senior Morgan O’Brien said the Highlanders played well despite the loss.
“We all worked really well together. We were all collectively a good team,” O’Brien said.
Seaman said seniors Kay Lindenfelser and Emmalyn Longo played a good game.
“Kay had a lot of good hits and put the ball down when we really needed the points. Emmalyn had good blocks, and she blocked their strongest outside hitter a couple times,” Seaman said.
The Highlanders’ next game is an away match at Mount Lebanon on Thursday.
