The girls tennis team lost to Allderdice on Thursday. 

“We all did well as a team because the scores were so close the entire time and two of the teams went into the third set. But unfortunately we did not pull out a win,” senior Makena Luxemburger said. 

Though the team lost, there were a few standouts.

“Olivia Garofalo played really well, considering it was her first time ever playing singles for varsity,” junior Gabi Moder said.

Moder said Allderdice was strong and played consistently. Luxemburger said they had a good strategy and they were good at placing the ball. 

The girls agree that the Highlanders have some things to work on. 

“I think we could improve on our mentality during our matches and staying positive with ourselves,” Moder said.

The next match is away against Shady Side on Monday.
