The new horror film The Invitation has an interesting storyline, but it isn’t nearly the thriller that it could be.

The movie focuses on Evie, who has recently lost her mother and now is using a website to see if she has any other relatives. During her search, Evie discovers that she has a distant cousin, Oliver.

Oliver invites Evie to stay at a mansion in England for a wedding so she will get the opportunity to meet more of her family. As she stays in the residence, strange things start to happen, and hidden secrets within her family begin to unfold until disaster strikes.

The movie has an odd storyline that can get confusing at times, but overall it keeps viewers interested. Although it is entertaining to watch, it does disappoint in the thrill aspect. The scares throughout the film are subpar. The movie has a lot of potential but lacks the thriller aspect.

The film is decent in terms of storyline, but the horror factor definitely could have been a lot better.
