Senior Shajit Pokwal will be competing in the triple jump to represent Baldwin at the state track championships on Friday and Saturday in Shippensburg.

He said he has been dreaming of this moment and is happy that all of his hard work has finally paid off.

“It feels amazing,” Pokwal said. “Every day (I’ve been) training to be a little better than I was before.” 

It will be his first time competing at states as he only joined the track team last year.

“Being able to go to states the following year I joined feels awesome,” he said.

He is thankful for the opportunity and is proud to be a part of the team.

“I really appreciate everyone who was on the track team,” he said. “I have a very special bond with those competing in the same events, pushing one another.”

This is a moment he will never forget, he said.

“It is going to be a very special event for me and very memorable,” Pokwal said.
