Despite an impressive rally to tie the game at one point, the softball team lost to West Mifflin on Thursday, 5-4.

“We were losing 4-1 and then in one inning we came back and we tied it up,” freshman Gabby Jaquay said.

Despite some good pitching from the team, they were not able to pull off the win in the end.

“Brookelle Holby and Danielle Mezyk both pitched very well, but in the end they just hit the ball a little better than we did,” freshman Ryley Shaw said.

This was the last game of the regular season before playoffs begin. The team has improved a lot over the season, Jaquay said.

“I feel like we definitely got a lot better, and we improved a lot since the first game,” Jaquay said.

Playoffs are coming up next week with hopeful expectations from the team.

“We will find out who we play in the first round today. We hope to keep improving throughout the playoffs like we did in the regular season,” Shaw said.
