The varsity boys baseball team is on a three-game losing streak as they lost to Mt. Lebanon 9-7 in extra innings on Monday.

The Highlanders had held a 6-2 lead heading into the sixth inning. Sophomore Adam Ledbetter said Lebo hit the ball well in that inning.

“They had the bases loaded and tied it up with a base-clearing double,” he said.

However, Ledbetter also said the Highlanders improved in other aspects on Monday.

“We fielded the ball better yesterday and didn’t give up team errors,” he said.

Senior Liam Gutendorf agreed.

“The team fielded well,” Gutendorf said, adding that “Dylan Wyse played great.”

Gutendorf said there is room to grow.

“The offense could have been better with two outs,” he said. “We can overall just play better in clutch situations.”

The Highlanders play again on Tuesday at Mt. Lebanon at 4:15. p.m.
