The boys tennis team shut out Plum on Wednesday, 5-0.

Team captain Nate Philips didn’t play in the match but said the team played really well.

“They absolutely crushed it. It was 6-0 each time and I was incredibly proud of them,” Philips said.

Plum had only five players at the game, so they had to forfeit the second doubles competition. Baldwin took shutout wins in the other four competitions.

“It was an unexpected win against Plum,” Philips said.

Junior Brayden Yokopenic played first singles, freshman Leyton Yokopenic played second, junior Owen Garofalo played third, and juniors Danny Khalil and David Werner played first doubles.

Philips said that Werner in particular has seen his hard work pay off.

“David puts in the work at every game and practice and he put in a lot of work at practice on Tuesday,” Philips said.
