The varsity ice hockey team lost its quarterfinal playoff game to Peters Township 6-2 Tuesday night.

Seniors Trevor Belak and Ryan Sulinski scored Baldwin’s goals. Senior netminder Eddie Nowicki stopped 32 of 38 shots he faced.

“We just couldn’t get our offense going,” senior Dom Trimbur said. “On top of that Peters played a really strong game.”

Despite the loss, Trimbur said this season went really well overall, considering that the team moved up to the more competitive 3A division.

Belak, meanwhile, said something that he had taken away from this season is the brotherhood shared by the players.

“Coming together every week and seeing the same guys and working hard with them really brought us closer together,” Belak said.

This season Belak was the team captain. He said the experience was one to remember.

“It was a great experience for me,” Belak said. “I loved leading these boys to a winning season, and I wish it could’ve been longer. It was great to have Dom and Nelson (Buys) and everyone else who still acted like a captain be there with us too because it brought the team together more.”
