The Book of Boba Fett provides fans of the notorious Star Wars bounty hunter with slow-paced yet captivating conflict. 

The show’s events follow up on Boba Fett’s closing scene from the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, during which he easily defeats Bail Organa and takes over former crime lord Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

Compared to The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett is much more monotone, as it focuses around a single planet well known in the Star Wars universe – the desert planet of Tatooine.

The series paints Boba Fett in a unique light, as he attempts to control a sector of Tatooine known as Mos Espa. Typically, Fett plays second fiddle to a larger boss, such as Jabba the Hutt or Darth Vader. The new challenges of moderating diplomacy and reducing crime are challenges for Fett.

However, Fett’s own experience as a bounty hunter allows him some insight into how organized crime works. 

Another unique choice made by the show is that of further exploring Boba Fett’s past. As the Star Wars prequels first showed fans, Boba Fett had a tragic childhood filled with turmoil.

Some fans have complained that the series is slow and has not included enough action so far, but certain plot threads indicate that the slow buildup will be important for a big payoff.
