Girls lacrosse falls to North Hills
April 20, 2021
The girls varsity lacrosse team lost 18-2 on Monday to North Hills High School.
The girls had a rough first half but started to come together in the second half, sophomore Brooke McArdle said.
“We struggled in the beginning, but after our coach talked to us, we pushed through the hardships,” McArdle said.
McArdle complimented North Hills on their strengths in the game.
“They started out strong and had a lot of communication when moving around the field,” McArdle said.
Although the Highlanders struggled, McArdle felt the team was still able to show its strengths.
“After the first half, we really started to work together more and made North Hills work more,” McArdle said.
Seniors captain Taylor Mincin, Katie Iwaniuk, and Grace Hampton were among some of the players who stood out, McArdle said.
“They are always great leaders on the field. They kept up the hustle the entire game and were really focused on playing the game,” McArdle said.
Baldwin’s two goals were scored by sophomores Abby Hutchinson and Cadence Morton
“They did a good job with keeping the ball for our team,” McArdle said.
As for the rest of the season, McArdle said the girls need to improve on certain areas.
“We could work more on our passing, re-defending, defending, and being more aggressive,” McArdle said.
The girls’ current record is 1-5 and they play today at Norwin at 6 p.m.
