Following a tough loss to Hempfield on Tuesday night, the Baldwin girl’s varsity lacrosse team plays another game tonight against Canon-McMillan.

Sophomore Cadence Morton believes the team needs to work together to succeed.

“We need to work on our communication and cutting” to create space near the opponent’s goal, Morton said.

Hempfield dominated much of the game on Tuesday, winning 17-5. Baldwin scored four of its goals in the second half.

Although the team lost, the game still had its positive moments. Morton cites the goal by sophomore Taylor Bommer as an important moment.

“Baldwin’s first goal of the game, scored by Taylor Bommer, was really nice because we had a collection of passes that set up the play,” Morton said.

Morton praised senior Grace Hampton and sophomore Samantha Rorison as standout players during the game.

The team’s game tonight takes place at 6 p.m. at Canon-McMillan High School.
