Baldwin girls basketball lost in overtime to Connellsville, 49-42, on Thursday night.
Baldwin started slow in the game but made a late comeback in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
“Towards the end of the game we had good energy and the communication was much better,” senior Jenna Lutz said.
Junior Abby Marzina said that the team’s turnovers hurt them throughout the game.
“We turned the ball over a lot, and we didn’t play good enough defense to win,” Marzina said.
Marzina said that junior Kayla Radomsky was a bright spot for the team, despite the loss.
“Kayla played really well,” Marzina said. “She played good defense, had a lot of points, and she made the layup that sent us into overtime.”
The team has six section wins. They just need to win one more section game to clinch a spot in the playoffs. They have four section games left.
The team plays Mt.Lebanon next on Monday. The game is a benefit game for the family of the late Sue Dongilli, wife of girls soccer Coach Tom Dongilli and mother of junior Nina Dongilli.
