It will be a little later than it usually is, but there will be a powder puff football game pitting junior girls against senior girls in February.

The game was pushed back in the fall due to homecoming being so late in the season as well as weather difficulties. The date for this year’s game will be Feb. 28.

“Homecoming really pushed us back, so we figured it would just be better to do it at the end of the winter season,” Dr. Dan Harrold, co-sponsor of the senior class, said.

Coaching the senior class will be Harry DePetro and Jason DePretis, 2019 graduates. Coaching the junior class will be Spanish teacher Will Dodds and chemistry teacher Jon Tietz.

The seniors are coming into this powder puff game on a winning streak, having beaten the previous year’s seniors as well as winning both of their middle school powder puff games.

Senior Bailey Golvash, one of the students helping plan this year’s game, said the event fits perfectly with her busy schedule.

“I love sports, but with dance, I don’t have enough time to join another activity. Powder puff is perfect because it is a short event and allows me to do a little of both,” Golvash said.

An organizational meeting for any girls interested in participating will be held Tuesday after school in the North Atrium.
