Swimmers defeated by Peters Township
January 3, 2020
The boys and girls swim teams each lost in their meet against Peters Township on Thursday.
The boys fell 85-63 and the girls lost 91-63.
Sophomore Ethan Spozarski said that Peters has more swimmers, which means they participate in more events and earn more points.
“We as a team did really well,” Spozarski said.
Freshman Madison Hauser agreed that the size of the Peters Township teams played a role in their wins.
“They had a lot more swimmers, which allowed for more point opportunities,” Hauser said.
Hauser also credited the overall team effort from Peters.
“They were very well coached and had a very good work ethic,” Hauser said.
A few standouts from the Baldwin girls team were juniors Alli Schroeder and Anna Abbiatici and sophomore Ava Jo Russin, Hauser said. On the boys side, standouts were Sebastian Jasick and Dylan Stokes.
The Baldwin swimmers are aware of what needs to be done to improve on their individual performances.
“Some can improve on flip turns and more consistent kicks as well as pulling water. Others need to work on breathing throughout their events,” Hauser said.
The teams’ next meet is at 6 p.m. Monday at Elizabeth Forward.
