The baseball team was eliminated from playoff contention on Thursday with a 7-3 loss to Upper St. Clair.

“We just kept making mental errors and we didn’t hit as well as we could have,” senior Andy Sopata said.

Senior Ryan Butler agreed.

“We have a good attitude and need to keep it up,” Butler said. “We do a good job of communicating to each other.”

Senior Harry DePetro pitched for five innings and many other players made notable contributions to the game.

“Some of our best players were Aaron Exler, Colton Brain, and Josh Dadig,” Sopata said. “They did a really good job.”

To improve for their next game the boys are working on their focus and are going to practice hitting, as they didn’t hit as well as they would have liked to.

The Highlanders play Mt. Lebanon on Monday.
