The boys volleyball team started its regular season on a strong note on Tuesday, sweeping Central Catholic, 3-0.

Senior middle hitter Colin Poe said senior Russell Cyprowski played exceptionally well for the Highlanders.

“He was a tank,” Poe said.

Junior Zach Remlinger and senior Austin Bechtold both served well for Baldwin, Poe said.

He said the team had “brought the energy” to the match.

Senior backrow Tyler Gurchak said it was “exciting getting the win” in the first game of the season.

Gurchak said the team has been doing a lot of drills in practice to prepare for the season.

Junior Brendan Shaneman said that the team needs to maintain its energy and communicate well as the season progresses.

The team “could have a good chance of winning if we keep up our morale,” Shaneman said.
