Up-and-coming Ontario rapper Night Lovell’s long-awaited third album Goodnight Lovell, is almost perfect.

Lovell provides great lyrics in a unique, raspy voice, making the tone of the album clear. Although his lyrics may be dark at times, Lovell has a couple slower, sadder songs such as “Please Don’t Go,” “Can’t Lose You,” and “Bumble Bee.”

On the other end, the darker songs on the album, such as “Bad Kid,” “Pain,” and “Sinister” all are memorable as well.

The features on the album are also great. They include the duo of Ruby da Cherry and Scrim on “Joan Of Arc,” Wifisfuneral on “I Like Blood,” who goes off on his verse, and Lil Gnar on “Inside.”

Lovell evolves from his sound on his previous two albums, Red Teenage Melody and Concept Vague. The only issue with Goodnight Lovell is the repetition, with most of the production coming from producer Ginseng. But even with the repetition the album still proves to be great.

Goodnight Lovell is a must-listen for anyone into the underground or Soundcloud rap scene.
