Though the boys and girls swim teams lost to Upper St. Clair at a home meet on Thursday, the Highlanders used the competition as a learning experience.

“Even though we were swimming against a large school as a small one, everyone swam as hard as they could and gave 100 percent effort,” senior Camryn Beveridge said.

The swimmers are using this as a lesson to prepare for their next meet against larger schools.

“We have to learn how to step up to the challenge and I think everyone will be able to do really well,” junior Joseph Weber said.

The teams’ next meet is at 6 p.m. Thursday at Mount Lebanon.
