Despite Apple’s recent troubles, 2019 is bound to be a year for exciting new tech, particularly 5G smartphones, 8K TVs, foldable smartphones and more.

Network giants such as Verizon and AT&T are on the verge of breaking through the barrier and achieving 5G networks. This is going to be a huge breakthrough due to 5G being almost 100 times faster than 4G LTE.

Cell phone manufacturers such as LG, HTC, Google and Samsung are preparing to have 5G-compatible phones throughout the 2019 year. Unfortunately, with Apple’s current climate, there is heavy speculation that the company will not release a 5G-compatible phone until 2020.

On another note, Samsung recently showcased two powerhouse products that are going to be changing the direction of the electronics market.

The first reveal Samsung made was for its new 8K resolution TV. This will be the first 8K TV developed for consumers. While there is a hefty price tag of $11,700, Samsung is stepping up the television game and soon other companies will follow them.

The second huge reveal by Samsung was for the unprecedented Galaxy F. The Galaxy F is Samsung’s all new foldable smartphone. Currently, there is very little known about the device besides the sneak preview provided by Samsung at its developers’ conference in November.

As of right now, the only rumored tech from Apple is a smaller notch and a three-camera system on the back of its smartphones. Even though the rumored steps by Apple may seem small, the company always has kept secrets well, so until later in the year consumers won’t really know what Apple is up to.

Regardless, 2019 is packing a ton of new tech to look forward to, and consumers should be excited to see what’s in store.
