“Hoodie Szn” creates appealing vibe for listeners
December 21, 2018
Offering a compilation of melodic bars and lyrical verses, along with strong features, A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s second studio album, Hoodie Szn, creates an appealing and familiar vibe for listeners.
Right off the bat the title of his project and the album artwork portray A Boogie’s personality and the reasoning behind his rap name. During his time in high school he would keep his hood up and write throughout the day.
The first song on the project, “Voices in my Head,” starts the album off strong with a slower melody and real-life lyrics. He talks about his interactions with an unknown female who had an influence on his life.
One of the strongest songs on the album is “Startender,” featuring Offset and Tyga. The track has a club vibe with impressive features from both Offset and Tyga. All three of the artists work well with the beat to make this an instant hit.
Other notable songs on the album include “The Reaper,” “Look Back At It,” and “Beasty.” Each track has its own catchy style, but shows the darker side of A Boogie and how he has been able to maintain his original style even though his recent success.
Hoodie Szn also features many other noteworthy features, including Young Thug, 6ix9ine, Juice Wrld, and PnB Rock.
Overall, the project fits well with his other projects, but has its own lane. It lets listeners into A Boogie’s personal life and allows his fans to connect with his issues. The album could be regarded as one of his best projects yet.
