The Baldwin Hockey team lost in a tight 1-0 matchup against Mars on Thursday night.

The offense got shut down through the entire game and struggled to generate scoring opportunities.

“We really had trouble with their defense,” senior Cole Shannon said. “All of our shots were forced from the outside, which made it hard to create scoring opportunities.”

There were still some positives coming out of the tough loss, and seniors Nathan Hobson and Ross Zofcin played well on the defensive side.

“Nate had a huge presence on the ice and used his body well, and Ross played shut-down defense for us throughout the game,” Shannon said.

The team is now 3-5-1 and play again on Monday against the undefeated Pine-Richland Rams.

“We need to play an all-around tight game, be up-tempo all game, and hope to get some dirty goals to compete with them on Monday,” Shannon said.
