ns that turned into a trend of loose boyfriend jeans may live on, summer is now approaching and it’s time to pack up the jeans and switch to something more comfortable.
For the summer of 2018, this includes skirts, pinstripe patterns on everything, off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, rompers, flowy pants, and pantsuits.
Bright and bold are two words that can be used to describe the style of this year’s summer outfits. While previous years had lighter colors and more basic pieces of clothing, such as shorts and fit-and-flare dresses, this year is all about stepping out of comfort zones and ultimately creating a whole new style.
Pantsuits are one example of this newly developed style it seems everyone is attempting. One reason people may have jumped onto this trend is simply due to the convenience of it. When women are in a rush with seemingly nothing to wear, a pantsuit feels like the easiest option to quickly put on and go — an easy option that appears to be complex and well put together.
Similar to this, flowy pants have become big within this past year as well. As the warm weather hit, stores such as Forever 21, Macy’s, and Kohl’s began filling their shelves with every type of pattern and assortment of long, flowy pants imaginable.
While bell-bottom jeans are frowned upon within this generation, flowy pants have somehow tricked people into thinking they might be fashionable after all. It could simply be the vibrant colors and flowery patterns drawing the eye, but nonetheless, the teenage population has in fact fallen into the bell-bottom dilema.
While it still takes some coordination and stylistic techniques to fit the perfect shirt or crop top with the correct vibrantly patterned pants, throwing on a pair of light, flowy pants, a pantsuit, an off-the-shoulder dress, a romper, or a skirt all comes back to the convenience of it all.
It is simply the best time to buy new summer clothes. What more could one want than convenience, comfiness, and looking good all in one?
